The Leather-Covered Full Cheek Gag Bit with Double-Jointed Mouthpiece combines several features to provide greater control while maintaining exceptional comfort. It brings together the rebalancing action of a gag bit, the directional precision of a full cheek bit and the comfort of a leather-covered mouthpiece with a German Silver double-jointed centre.

The leather-covered mouthpiece offers a warmer, more natural feel than bare metal, improving acceptance by sensitive horses. The German Silver double joint distributes pressure more evenly, reduces pressure on the palate and naturally stimulates salivation thanks to its high copper content.

The gag action encourages the horse to shift its weight onto the hindquarters, improving balance and lightening the forehand. The larger the gag rings, the stronger the lifting effect. The full cheeks provide excellent lateral guidance and stability, improving steering and helping keep the bit correctly positioned.

Highlights

  • Combines the action of a gag bit with the guidance of a full cheek bit.
  • Leather-covered mouthpiece for superior comfort.
  • German Silver double joint promotes relaxation and even pressure distribution.
  • Excellent lateral guidance and stability.
  • Encourages the horse to rebalance onto the hindquarters.

Composition: Stainless steel leather-covered mouthpiece with a German Silver double joint (65% copper, 23% zinc, 12% nickel), a durable alloy that promotes relaxation.

Directions for use: This bit requires special gag cheekpieces and can be used with direct reins, Pelham roundings or double reins. The leather-covered mouthpiece enhances comfort, while the double joint provides a softer and more even pressure distribution.

Care instructions: Rinse thoroughly after each use to remove residue. Regularly treat the leather with a vegetable oil to maintain its suppleness. Never use neatsfoot oil or synthetic oils, as they may damage the leather.

Important notice: Leather bits are not covered against bite damage, even if the damage occurs during the very first use.
