The intensity of the action varies according to the rein position. This allows the bit to be used with simple lateral guidance or with a mild leverage or lifting effect, depending on the chosen configuration.

The roller mouthpiece distributes pressure across several contact points, making it more difficult for the horse to lean on the bit. The rollers also encourage chewing activity and stimulate salivation, promoting a softer mouth, greater relaxation and a lighter contact.
