Uls-Gard pellets provide an advanced and effective pellet formulation to help maintain digestive health and comfort.

Horses are designed to graze - grazing for up to 16 hours a day. This means they must constantly secrete acid to help digest this almost continuous source of food that enters their stomach. A grazing horse will also produce up to 9 gallons of saliva per day which, in addition to lubricating the food, also helps maintain a healthy gastric pH.

The horse has a small stomach and food does not stay there for very long, so even short periods of the day without access to forage should be minimized.

Providing a small amount of forage, such as hay, before exercise will also promote gastric health and comfort.

Composition:

Equine America Uls-Gard pellets have been formulated using carefully selected ingredients to help maintain gastric health and comfort, including:

• Slow-release calcium and magnesium from seaweed to help maintain a healthy intestinal pH.
• Lecithin - a special type of fat that helps support healthy gastric mucosal cells.
• Pectins, marshmallow root, and licorice - to help produce mucilage to support the upper part of the stomach.
• Aloe Vera and glycine - to help maintain a healthy gastric mucosa (stomach lining).
• Yeast rich in nucleotides to provide beta-glucans that help increase gastric content viscosity and provide nutritional support for a healthy gastric mucosa.
• Pre- and probiotics to help support a healthy intestinal microbiome.
• Alfalfa and soybean husks to provide a fibrous mat and help maintain a healthy gastric pH.

Directions for use:

Uls-Gard pellets are a complementary feed for horses and ponies, designed to promote gastric health as part of a balanced diet.

For a typical 500 kg horse: 100 g per day, ideally divided into 2 or 3 meals. Maximum 200g per day if necessary. 50 g (approximately) scoop included.
