Magnesium is a vital trace mineral and plays an important role in nerve function and muscle contraction, as well as other roles in the body. A deficiency of magnesium in the diet can lead to

Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is important for nerve impulse transmission and cellular energy production.

L-tryptophan is an essential amino acid in the horse's diet that is needed for the production of the important hormone serotonin, which is associated with mood and pleasure. L-tryptophan is included in So Kalm Solution at a safe level to meet daily needs, especially in lively or anxious horses who are likely to receive minimal concentrates and, therefore, may receive suboptimal levels of this key amino acid.

Chastetree Extract (Vitex Agnus Castus), also known as Monks Pepper, has been used for centuries to support mood and temperament. More recently, research has shown that Chasteberry contains natural compounds that support key levels of mood-regulating hormones, which help maintain hormonal balance, reduce irritability and muscle tension, which can lead to unpredictable and difficult behavior, as well as loss of concentration.

All ingredients are selected to ensure they are fully compliant with racing rules and FEI guidelines for clean sport.

Ingredients per 30 ml serving

• Magnesium 150mg
• Vitamin B 1300mg
• Chastetree Extract 1g
• L-tryptophan 1g

Directions:

For a 500 kg horse: 30 ml per day. Can give an additional 30 ml, two hours before the event.

Maximum: 60 ml per day (split into two meals).

Kalm should therefore be introduced gradually and fed at the recommended intake for at least 7 days before any stressful activity, and can be safely fed long-term if necessary. Can be reduced to 15 ml per day if desirable behavior is maintained. So Kalm Solution is a low sugar and starch formulation, and therefore safe for horses and ponies needing a low sugar diet.
