The First Electronic Airbag Designed for Riders

To create a product perfectly suited to riders, In&motion teamed up with the premium French brand Horse Pilot. Traditional tethered airbag vests have limited fall detection capabilities, especially in scenarios where the rider remains connected to the horse.

Additionally, their usage can be more cumbersome (e.g., replacing the gas cartridge or remembering to detach the leash). To address these issues, the two brands combined their expertise to develop the E-Twist’Air: a sleekly designed, ultra-breathable airbag vest presented by Horse Pilot.

This vest offers superior fall detection, eliminates accidental deployments caused by forgetting to detach the leash, and allows the inflator (gas cartridge) to be replaced in under a minute without tools. This first-ever electronic airbag vest integrates the Essential module and protects vital areas: the Thorax, Abdomen, Neck, and Back. It also features a RE ZRO® level 2 back protector.

Among the most dangerous accidents for riders are falls involving significant impact. Unlike tethered airbags, which are limited by the distance between the rider and the horse, the electronic airbag delivers unmatched fall detection. Its ultra-fast response activates, on average, twice as quickly as a tethered airbag, ensuring optimal safety when every second counts.

Two Levels of Protection

The airbag pouch is made with OPW technology, enabling up to eight inflations before requiring maintenance. The In&motion Essential module strikes the perfect balance between protection and comfort. As its name suggests, this airbag covers the essentials—the vital zones: thorax, abdomen, back, and neck.

Crafted from high-performance recycled materials, the back protector delivers exceptional protection while remaining lightweight, breathable, and comfortable. It also provides gentle back support to help riders maintain proper posture while riding. The back protector meets level 2 standards as per motorcycle regulations.

Directly integrated into the E-Twist’Air airbag, the In&box technology is capable of predicting falls before they occur. Equipped with a six-axis sensor (acceleration and rotation), the system continuously analyzes the rider’s position, performing up to 1,000 measurements per second. These data are then cross-referenced and processed by predictive algorithms, enabling the system to detect abnormal movements and deploy the airbag at the right moment, ensuring optimal protection at all times.

This technology is also adaptive: the algorithms are continuously refined by our team of data scientists and updated remotely for all users.

The My In&box App

The mobile app "My In&box" serves as the real-time dashboard for your In&motion airbag system. Connected via Bluetooth to the In&box, the app is required for the initial activation of the system and provides key information: battery level of the In&box, active mode, and any updates to install. With this app, you have complete control over your equipment, guaranteeing a personalized and ever-evolving safety experience for every riding session.
