All horses can experience a temporary bout of fatigue, particularly during a seasonal change.

Unlike humans, horses have the ability to synthesize their own vitamin C in their liver. This usually protects them from deficiencies.

However, in cases of stress, during growth periods, or when liver function is impaired, the synthesis of vitamin C can decrease or even stop.

While horses that graze on fresh grass get enough vitamin C from their diet, hay contains very little. Vitamin C plays a crucial role in strengthening the immune system and in the synthesis of collagen.

Deficiencies can increase the risk of infections, for example, when a horse has a wound, or make the horse more susceptible to certain respiratory conditions, such as strangles or rhinopneumonitis.

During growth, the collagen it helps produce is essential for proper bone and joint development.

A vitamin C supplement can therefore be very useful, even though deficiencies are rare. It also contributes to a shinier coat for a glossy appearance.

Vitamin C is recommended for:

  • Stress (change of environment, competition, transport, etc.)
  • Reduced immunity (viral infection, recovery)
  • Young horses in growth periods

Composition and Active Ingredients
VITAMIN C HORSE MASTER contains:

  • 70% Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) with powerful antioxidant properties that protect cells from free radicals and strengthen the immune system. This helps the horse recover better after exertion and fight off infections more effectively. It regulates fluid secretions in the respiratory tract and limits mucus buildup, making it particularly beneficial in cases of respiratory issues in horses. Lastly, it contributes to collagen synthesis for the production of high-quality cartilage and tendons.
  • Lithothamnion, a red algae rich in calcium and minerals, to complement the action of vitamin C.

How to use Vitamin C from Horse Master:

  • Administer ½ scoop for ponies and 1 scoop (15g) per day directly in the feed for at least 30 days.
  • This product contains no doping substances and can be used during competition periods
